Welcome to Our New Blog!

Tags:

As we continue to change and improve Answers, we wanted to improve the ways we communicate and expand the ways we engage with you, the Answers community. We hope our shiny, new blog will help us do just that!

So what’s changed? On the upper right of the page, you’ll see a link to Yahoo! Canada Answers, as well as tools for finding information. The Search box gives you three places to look in: Blog, Web or Answers. If you still don’t find what you need, you can post a question directly to Answers from the box below Search.

You’ll also find links to blogs we like and recent readers from the MyBlogLog community. Be sure to join the MyBlogLog community and see your profile appear in this section.

Beneath each post, you can comment on it (please do!), add the post to del.icio.us or go directly to Yahoo! Canada Answers.

What hasn’t changed? The Yahoo! Canada Answers blog is still the place to come for product updates, announcements, community guideline features, and staff picks as well as timely, anecdotal, and (we hope) informative posts highlighting the topics we find in our meanderings through the Answers community.

Thanks for checking out our new blog!

  1. Well it is overdue that you’re attempting to improve communications, something that has always been lacking in yahoo as a whole. I commend you on your attempt to improve.

  2. I hope this means that you will actually be LOOKING at and READING those questions and answers that are reported. Most of them are reported by TROLLS just because they offended two people.
Two is a MINORITY. May I suggest that you up the limit to 50 or 100 people reporting the question before it gets removed? One more thing, Asking questions about the Israelis is perfectly legal and yet every time I ask a questions about the Israelis it gets reported abnd deleted, Yahoo is supposed to be an OPEN and neutral environment. Every time you delete a question about the jews you are showing your bias. ThereforeYahoo is NOT NEUTRAL

  3. I think you should remove the answers limit! I found more than 20 questions that I could’ve answered to ease someones mind, there are a lot of panicking parents on here:)

  4. Frankly I find Yahoo! Canada Answers and Yahoo! Canada News have too many server problems. I doubt that I would want to participate in this until it is proven to me by other users that it actually works. I wish you good luck, but for now I will continue to use other internet-based blogs. Sorry.

  5. Yamster,
Nothing personal but I was with my blog log
    never gotten help,
plus they broke the first rule in their guidelines
    be nice, play nice
attempted to charge me for my account
I know how to blog else where but I had problems in there and didn’t get help. So I deleted the account.

  7. I think the first thing that’s required is you stop freezing accounts of people who enjoy a good debate. Debates are not contrary to community guidelines; debates challenge people to think outside the box.
I see other more disgusting posts that Yahoo DOES allow and it disturbs me that just because one may say something you don’t like, you suspend their account.
This is a democratic country so stop being so sanctimonious.

  8. Yahoo is very partisan and placing moderation “in the hands of the community” is placing it in the hands of report monkeys who have to balanced sense of fair play. Yahoo’s TOS and guidelines are generally ambiguous, in effect words just mean whatever Yahoo wants them to mean. And too many Q&As are being deleted for “not a Q or A” or “chatting”. How can any reasonable person distinguish between chatting, debate, discussion? It’s impossible.

  9. If I ask questions in a courteous manner, should I not be able to expect that I will be answered in the same way. I do enjoy a debate, but I do no tolerate insults and yelling (THAT”S WITH CAPS). This forum is in place to allow people to ask questions. These questions should not be met with hostility and people who do respond with open hostility and insults should be reported. Period!
