I was apparently reported for my reply to a question that was completely and without a doubt asked only to elict way out responsees. What I said was the spelling of a sound...not a curse word or even a dirty type of word. Apparently the question was never checked! The questionaire constantly postes questions about "should I eat my fish? I fell into the tank and can't swim?" get the drift? I was tired of such post and made a remake that means...Give it up! I would like to know if the questions are ever check for content? This poster has numerous ones in Fish. The response was the spelling of a, peraps, rude noise, but it was not a curse word.

Don't report questions (edits) or answers which are based on your own answers. Give it a thumbs down and wait until others have done the same. Then report it and let the thumbs make your case for you. If nobody else gives it a thumbs down, you're probably just hurting your own reputation be reporting it.
Note to the "Yahoo Answers Team" Can I report you for bad grammar?
Example: If we agree..... whomever reported you ......." Grammar tip: "who becomes whom when it's preceded by "to" (to whom) - otherwise use "who".

What I hear from almost everyone on Yahoo is that the system doesnt work. People have questions and answers removed for no valid reason. Its dont because one person using multiple profiles reports them. Yahoo doesnt give a reason and as far as I can see doesnt even read the appeal or the question when appealed. I have appeals denied and then sent it on to Answers Escelation and had the question reinstated which PROVES the appeal process is just a technical sop for members here and has no real function, other than to make members feel they do have an avenue of appeal.

I had a Level 6 account up until 3 days ago. I and a lot of others have been the repeated targets of report monkeys. I want to make it very clear that I have always be mindful of the terms on Y!A. Most of the VNs I received for petty. All my answers have always been clear, researched and never insulting. I haven't decided whether or not to appeal. It seems that Y!A staff do not take the time to read the reports that come in. It seems easier just to delete someone. I don't suppose you will bother responding to this. I have had a good reputation on R & S and have been the victim of a lot of haters and others who get away scott-free. What do you think of that? What happens should someone wish to pursue your terms with legal action on their own? I will be waiting for a response. And if you care to look over my last account that you deleted so easily - you might find out that I NEVER did anything wrong.

Your turn Yahoo Answers. Should you reply back it would be nice to hear from an actual person and not some impersonal form letter.

Thank you for your time.

I am also disappointed with the way this system works. A month ago, I reported an abusive question (the original question was fine, but the asker's "edit" which was a response to my answer was not) however, what happened was my very thoroughly researched answer (which was apparently not what the asker wanted to hear) was deleted.

When I appealed I was told only that my answer violated community guidelines, but gave absolutely no specifics. I had kept a copy of my answer and had several different, unrelated to me people read it along with a copy of the community guidelines and none of them could see how or where it violated the guidelines.

My request for clarification was met with resounding silence. Hence my extreme disappointment with the system.

I am disappointed my considerate answer to the question was deleted 2 days ago. I really gave a thoughtful answer that was civil, helpful and community oriented. Both question and my answer are missing.
What happened to it? I just would like to know.

Some feed-back as to the results of my reporting infractions would be helpful. I have reported abuse but do not know the results. If there was feed-back then users would understand better what is and is not reportable. This would probably reduce the number of erroneous reports.
