Yahoo! Answers outage Saturday 19th September
We have some planned maintenance scheduled Saturday, September 19, starting at midnight EDT that will last a few hours.
Answers will be unavailable during that time. If there is any change to the schedule, we will inform you here with updates.

You got to be kidding me! I have a serious question and the sites shutdown? Its like I have bad karma from whats going on now! Hurry up because if I did not get an answer I would of wasted a total of 5 hours of my life today!
Thank you Yahoo!Answers for keeping us informed. Letting us know that the site will not be available will prevent frustration. Your suggestion to go to other Yahoo sites is helpful and thoughtful. This is something every major site should think of when doing maintenance. We all understand sites need maintenance and can accept that. Kudos!

I think Maintenaince is always needed-but maybe it’d be better if it was done during the night/early morning hours and not during the day.
However I do hope you do some very well needed cleanup in Y! A.. there’s lots of trolls around…people who ask silly questions or rants over and over…….
After all this time with Y! A unavailable I hope it’s turned out nice and clean and working well.

Well, thanks for giving the heads-up but its been over 12 hours now, its noon.
The next best thing would be to give us a rough estimate on how long the maintenance would take.

‘A few hours’? That’s quite an understatement. Yahoo Answers has been down for 13 hours now. Most people would consider that more than ‘a few hours.’ I agree with HeyItsNick, you could let people know how much longer the site will be down.

If you said they won’t be available at midnight tonight, then why aren’t they available now??? WHAT ON EARTH???? That doesn’t make any sense!!!
