Do you have a special story about air travel or an unforgettable skyscape you have experienced?

Michael Y’s Best Answer:

Coming into Manchester airport I glanced out of the planes window and looking down I saw completely round rainbow. If that was not unusual the shadow of our aircraft was clearly visible in the middle. Regretfully by the time I found my camera it had gone.

What was your most memorable beach or seaside vacation?

Professor Karker’s Best Answer:

It was summer of 2008, I was just walking my dog on dog-beach san diego as I was walking I stumbled upon this most beautiful girl laying on the golden sands reading a book minding her own business, and but I couldn’t help it something pushed me to go to her and ask if she wanted to hangout with me. She looked at me smiled and said that she would love to. We grabbed some ice cream we started talking, one thing lead to another and I decided to show her my fav beach in san diego, in OB by sun set cliffs , we watched the sunset while OB surfers were riding the most ngarly waves. It was the best beach experience in my life cause now this girl that I have meet is my wife :)

What was your best memory in a foreign city? Why was it so memorable?

Conley39’s Best Answer:

On one visit to Paris several years ago, I was out looking for somewhere interesting to eat and ran into a large crowd of people headed for the Eiffel Tower. When I asked some people what was happening, they explained that there was a big Johnny Hallyday concert and invited me to join them. As the evening progressed, more and more people gathered in the Champs du Mars; there were around 400,000 people and lots of food stands. The people I was with offered to share their picnic and explained who Johnny Hallyday is and why he is important. Eventually, the sun went down right next to the Eifel Tower. As soon as the sunset cleared the horizon, fireworks erupted from the tower and the concert started. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen and totally serendipitous. People often repeat the stereotype of the French being rude or unfriendly to Americans, but that has certainly never been my experience there.

What was your most picturesque and idyllic holiday in the countryside?

Travel Oracle’s Best Answer:

Well for me it was in Rajasthan India… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajasthan

The best part about Rajasthan i found was it has Mountains, Hills, Lakes and Desert in a viscinity of a mere 200kms (u go 200kms in a circle and u can see all that)

Plus there is so much history in the place… http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Rajastha…

We started off in an SUV on NH-8 India http://www.mapsofindia.com/driving-direc…

and Stopped at almost every other Interval for a fotograph or a simple ‘chai’ (Tea in India) at a ‘dhaba’ (roadside/highway stop/motel)( this ‘Dhaba’ thing is Unique only to India & Pakistan)…

We stopped 1st at

Jaipur – http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&q=Ja… (famous as the Capital of Princely State of Rajasthan from the British Raj) – Also Known as ‘Pink City’ as all buildings are PINK in color

Then ‘Jodhpur ‘ – Blue City – All Buildings are blue lol… http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&q=jo…

Then Jaiselmer – The city of Fortresses — http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&q=ja…

Finally at ‘Pushkar’ – Before returning back to ‘Bombay’ — The city has a written history 60,000 yrs old.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pushkar ..It also holds the ‘Biggest Camle fair’ in the world — http://www.pushkar-camel-fair.com/

The whole road trip was full of sightings of Greenery and Deserts, Camels, Elephants, Decorated Caravans, Uniquely dressed people- men wearing a specific turban, which is different from the ’sikh Turban ( http://www.rajasthanunlimited.com/artand… )

….

Although Rajasthan doesnt end in that..But our time permitted only that much…so we’ll be back next time soon..lol
